Hello readers,
I am required to have this page, and will try not to make it too boring!
What are affiliates?
BigTravelNut is currently an affiliate for the following companies:
- Trusted Housesitters
- CheapLivingAbroad.com
- Booking.com
- Busbud
- Lonely Planet
- Context Travel
- Tilley
- TripAdvisor
- Amazon.ca
- Get Your Guide
Being an affiliate means that I promote a certain company on my site, social media, etc. If someone buys a product or service from that company after accessing it through my links or banners, the company pays me a commission. The price to you, the end user, is exactly the same as if you had gone to the company’s website directly.
The commissions are not intended to make me rich, but they will help me continue running and maintaining BigTravelNut.com, hopefully for many years to come!
I only promote companies whose products or services I believe will help my readers, and which I already use myself.
Cookie Policy
Affiliate links, whether text or banners, often place cookies on the user’s computer. Cookies are files or pieces of information that are stored on your computer with the purpose of improving your experience and the performance of the site by remembering information about your visit. For example the site may remember the date of your last visit, your language preference, what other options you chose, etc.
If you want, you can disable cookies through your browser’s Preferences or Settings.
By clicking on my affiliate links, you consent to the following cookies:
- Cookies placed on behalf of Affiliate Window (a company that manages the relationship between affiliates and advertisers)
- Cookies placed on behalf of the advertiser (see below).
For example, Trusted Housesitters places a cookie that remembers a visitor for 30 days. This means that if you first visit their site through my link, and decide to buy a membership within 30 days, the site will remember that you first found them through BigTravelNut, even if you later accessed them directly to buy. This way I still get my commission!
None of these cookies collects private information about users.
Amazon.ca doesn’t use cookies, but wants me to tell you that “Big Travel Nut is a participant in the Amazon.com.ca, Inc. Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.ca“.
